- What am I doing here??
Yes, okay it is so odd that I am here, and last week I was just in my room in Versailles, reading a book and eating a sandwich and at a bar talking with one of my French friends. I was in Versailles for so long that I had to call it home for awhile. I think I would still get that comfort feeling that one receives when going home after being away if I were ever to go back to Versailles. It is not foreign to me, or at least as much foreign as it is here. The huge stores, the huge cars and roads, we live an insane lifestyle compared to the rest of the world. I was speaking in French to myself the otherday, yes it was odd, but fun. Im starting to miss it. See when I was there I was away from everyone that I know here. I was thrown in this bubble almost, because I had 38 other Americans of my age. So we got to know eachother quite well. too well yes. but then I had the world. well at least Europe at my reigns. Any voyage was purely up to me and my bank account. but that seemed bottomless due to my gracious parents. It was an adventure everyday, for the very reason that I knew that I could encounter something new that day, something I have never seen before. Routines did not last too long. And my head kept thinking and wondering. I do not think I lived a euro lifestyle, I lived a lifestyle of some young American studying abroad in Europe, traveling and making the most of everyday. The lifestyle is what I miss. I hope to be able to carry it through with me into what I call a new phase of my life.

- I used the refridge to fill a glass of water (normally in france I used the faucet) and then icecubes...whoa, icecubes are such a luxery, do not take them for granted. I am trying to get used the the huge bed thing too. The first night I just usedless than half of the bed, but last night, I used 2/3! I turned off the water while still in the shower...i just felt guilty for keeping it running when i am not using it then...hmmm maybe ill never change that habit. the only junk food ive had thus far is icecream , but it was mint choc chip, so can u blame me? I have a new phone, no not really just the one ive had before i left. so give me a call 630-421-7777

I had a mission, to see the interior of notre dame and to see the mona lisa amongst the other great artwork at the louvre, I wanted to see st chapelle and to see the modern art museum at pompidue. Ha and I even had tome for a little shopping. But I have realized that I was about to go crazy because I can not stand in crowds anymore. I seriously was in and out of the mona lisa. ah ill be back, shell still be here. I then met up with 2 friends and ate dinner at st michel and later I met up with my french friend at a bar, for one last good time recalling the good times.

- ronchamp roadtrip >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>so we (julie, Pryia, Jen, Alice and I) decided to take a road trip out to one of le corbusier's most well known building and only church, notre dame de haut in ronchamp france. It was about a 5 hour drive. we awoke early and picked up the car at 9am. it was a manual, jen drove most of the time, with Pryia trading off. Alice and I gave it a shot too. We were crusing out way out out from paris, starting heading in the wrong direction and back to where we came from but just minor detours as we see it. The french landscape in the different regions was beautiful. it appeared like a patchwork quilt because of the division of croplines. we came across some mustard crops. the church was amazing, especially the interior accented light and cold bare stature of the building. I really felt that I was in a place to worship and pray...not like gothic cathedrals where the building I think distracts the attender with its busy decor. we drove to dijon for dinner. I did have mustard. sorry. and then we went to paris to experience the city at a fast speed. see normally we just walk. and well once time we tried backs but to be in a vehicle and to learn paris through a car was an obstacle. let me just say that the roundabouts are insane! especially place de la concorde. and then we drove down champs-elyssee. that was amazing, to be traveling down the axial line of the louvre, arc de triomphe and la defense was surreal. so when in a european city, rent a car one day...see the city from the cinematic speed.

- I had my final project review today with EPP (firm name). Since being in Versailles weve had to work on the project. Our professor allowed us, however told us not to pull an all nighter. I was up until 5am the night before (2 hrs of sleep). But it paid off. We had a model, actually 2! and I did some perspective drawings. Our review went well. But it was the longest review ever! The jurers gave feedback that raised important questions about the city and whether something was the right thing to do...(but what is right?) They were hard on all of the groups, yet I think ours was quite successful. It needs to be developed further. Some kids had a party last night. In studio right now and the french kids are decorating for a party tonight. the theme is ice? itll be the last time ill be in this school probably. sad. but i want to go home. One of my friends left today. She was very excited, which has made me more excited.
