- AIA Conference.
SO a while back I volunteered to work at this AIA (american institute of architects) conference that is being hled in paris, in doing so there was the possibility of meeting architects and meybe work for them...well that did not happen, however I will always remember this past weekend because I sat in on a lecture given by christian portzamparc who is the architect behind parc de la villette, and you know how much I love that place. Anyway, his lecture was interesting but the more interesting part of the whole conference was how we were allowed to go to the site visits with the large groups and the architect was there on site talking to us about his project. The conference focussed on the rive gauche area and its new plans for develoment...therefore there were many buildings that are in the forfront for sustainable architectrue and the materials used... I learned about many great french architects and they had a round table with american architects with what architecure will be like in 10 years...all very fscinating.
